Kristin Atkins
About Kristin
Kristin was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. As a teen she performed in Europe and directed the Eastern Illinois Univeristy Choir. She obtained a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with and endorsement in Fine Arts. She is currently a Music educator with Chicago Public Schools. Attaining her Master's Degree in Biblical Studies from Mt. Carmel Theological Seminary was a lifetime dream. She is an ordained Elder and Founder of Words of Life Global Ministries in Country Club Hills, Il.

Kristin was nominated for the Grammy Music Teacher Awards. She's shared the stage with many artist across the globe. She also has sung lead with many groups. As well as, making regular appearances with "Travis Douglas and Friends" at the House of Blues Chicago for the "Kirk Franklin Brunch". She also ministers at several Musc Festivals around the country. She's shared the stage with many artist like the late Edwin Hawkins, Andre Crouch ,Dorinda Clark Cole and many others. As a lover of gospel music, Kristin has been the host of "Praisefest" on Chicago's own WSSD 88.1 FM and "Revival of Praise" on Tabernacleradio.org with her husband Miguele Atkins.

Elder Kristin Atkins comes from a family of perfomers. She has performed all across the country doing musical tributes to her aunt, the late Queen Dinah Washington. She currently was a featured artist for the Dinah Washington: Centennial Celebration for the Chicago Bluesfest 2024.

She is currently, the Vice President of the Chicago Alliance of Gospel Music Professionals and is a board member for HeavenSent Records. She is also the fouder of the Dinah Washington Experience.
